If you are searching for Vancouver wedding venues that feel timeless, intimate, and full of character, a wedding at Cecil Green Park House is truly something special. Tucked along the cliffs of Point Grey on the campus of the University of British Columbia, this historic mansion offers a rare combination of heritage architecture, lush gardens, and ocean views.

Cecil Green Park House feels like stepping into another era. Built in the early twentieth century as a private estate, the mansion is filled with ornate architectural details that give weddings here a timeless atmosphere. Leaded stained glass windows, carved wood interiors, and grand fireplaces reflect the craftsmanship of the home’s original design. Outside, the surrounding gardens and ocean views create a sense of quiet escape from the city, making it feel more like a historic coastal estate than a typical Vancouver wedding venue.

This celebration was filled with meaningful moments and thoughtful personal touches. One of the most emotional parts of the day was the couple’s first look. Choosing to see each other privately before the ceremony created space for a quiet moment together before the day truly began, allowing them to take everything in before sharing it with their guests.
Following the ceremony, guests gathered for a classy cocktail hour on the patio, where conversation and laughter carried easily through the space. Later in the evening, dinner was held outside on the patio as well, creating an elegant but relaxed atmosphere where everyone could enjoy the warm summer air and the beauty of the estate surroundings.
As the sun began to set, the couple stepped away for golden hour portraits around the property. The gardens and ocean views at Cecil Green create a beautiful glow in the evening light, making sunset one of the most magical times of day at the venue.

One of the reasons couples are so drawn to Cecil Green Park House is how private and intimate the property feels. The historic mansion, gardens, and terraces all flow together naturally, creating the feeling of a private estate celebration rather than a traditional event venue.
The architecture of the house, combined with the surrounding greenery and ocean views, provides an incredible variety of settings for portraits throughout the day. From quiet garden paths to the elegant interiors of the mansion, every corner of the property adds depth and character to the overall experience.

As a Vancouver wedding photographer and Vancouver film photographer, venues like Cecil Green Park House are always inspiring to photograph. The historic architecture and garden setting pair beautifully with film photography, which captures soft tones, natural light, and a timeless quality that complements the atmosphere of the estate.
I photograph weddings using both digital and film, blending candid storytelling with relaxed portraits to document the day in a way that feels natural and true to each couple.
